Identify and maintain a repository of information that showcases
the efficacy of the Bowen Technique for certain medical conditions.

RESEARCH

Provide, through research, a foundational understanding of how the Bowen Technique stimulates physiologic change in the body.

TRAINING

Provide the advanced 'Diploma' level training and tools required to professionally treat 21st Century clients.

COLLABORATION

Create a ‘collaborative community' dedicated to supporting and sustaining the professional application of the Bowen Technique in the 21st Century.

TO BE DIFFERENT

The International Institute of  Bowen Studies was born of our
perceived need for a different perspective and direction in the Bowen world.

• A BILLION people in the world, having easy access to a Bowen Practitioner, have never heard of or
  experienced our work.  

• The Bowen community's current core focus of Recruitment and Training does little to address the
  need these people have for the skills we have to offer.

• We have the capability to change many more lives. We have a responsibility and obligation as custodians
  of the Bowen Technique to make it more widely available.

People need to know about us and what we do.

  • Identifying and conducting Research that brings credence and credibility to the work.

  • Making what Research we do available in ONE place.

  • We believe 'Proof of Concept' Research is within our financial and management capabilities, with the intent of passing worthwhile projects on to others.

Creating and teaching practical knowledge not taught by anyone else, incl. 

• Focus on:

  • Intake

  • Assessment

  • Client Communication

  • Medical Conditions (which typically present to us)

• Complimentary Modalities — Reflex Points + Scenar

• Understanding Type A personality as it pertains to our clients

• Working effectively with complex Highly and Hyper-Sensitive clients

• Using Emotional Release work to address our clients Trauma 

The purpose of the Institute Training program is to create competent confident Professional Bowen Practitioners as they progress their work practice.

Creating and implementing a collaborative information sharing and communications environment.

Providing and continuously updating:

• Knowledge Hub - practical information pertaining to what we do - continuously expanding our knowledge

• Video Library - hundreds of videos expanding our knowledge

• Book Library - hundreds of books expanding our knowledge

Not accepting that because Tom Bowen didn't do it, is a reason why it shouldn't be done.

Not accepting the ‘old’ status quo.

• INFORMATION MANAGEMENT

Creating an information narrative where many more of “the BILLION” are aware of the Bowen Technique and have some sense that it is a legitimate and wholly appropriate option to addressing their pain and dysfunction.  

That they have professional, knowledgeable, competent, caring Bowen Practitioners (irrespective of interpretation) who can initiate positive outcomes in their body's and improve daily Quality of Life.

Our work is not about the past, it’s about looking forward. Giving Practitioners the knowledge, tools, experience, confidence and communication skills needed to be all they can be in the care and service of the clients who lay on their tables and entrust their bodies to the Bowen Technique.

Our work is about providing Practitioners with the skills they need to be successful and thereby increase the number still practicing Bowen, 5 years after conclusion of their training.

TO BE DIFFERENT - IS BEING OUTSIDE THE BOX in service of our 21st Century Clients.

We acknowledge and accept not everyone will agree with our philosophy or approach. We are ready
to co-operate with anyone who is willing to advance the Bowen Ball into the wider community.
